Hello STEMMLINS!! We have some exciting news to share about an upcoming event in our hometown of Buffalo, NY and we will NEED YOUR HELP! This will be one of the biggest events STEMM has done yet in Buffalo and with your help and support, YOU could help put STEMM on the road for a FULL U.S. TOUR!!



The event will take place SATURDAY AUGUST 30th @ The Town Ballroom and is part of a program/contest called PROJECT INDEPENDENT!Here's a little bit about them and how the program works: *************************************************************************************PROJECT PROJECT INDEPENDENT is a national touring, artist showcase program specifically designed for the discovery and development of independent metal artists, and since emerging onto the scene in spring 2006, Project Independent has become the most popular and fastest growing independent artist search in the United States.

Each year, we travel throughout the country coordinating with local promoters and venues from coast to coast to find the best, independent metal artists in the area. We then invite these artists to participate in our exclusive artist showcases, where they perform in front of their peers, and in the presence of Project Independent A&R. One artist from each event is then selected to participate in an online voting process, exposing them to over 3 million metal fans who will vote to decide the next Project Independent Featured Artist. *******************************************************************************The AUG 30th show will act as a showcase for their 2007 winning artist NINETAIL and will have 4 Buffalo artists on it as well who will be competing for the winning slot for 2008. The bands showcasing will be: His Name Was Yesterday, Frailty, As Summer Dies, (NINETAIL), and STEMM.


Each band will have a 45 minute set to strut their stuff in front of the A&R rep. Unlike many other contests (which often turn into mere popularity contests) each band is watched by their A&R rep who has a checklist where he will gauge each band's performance and many other things (stage presence, crowd interaction, etc) and then based upon that info a winner is chosen for the Buffalo area! We are of course hoping this will be STEMM!


Whomever wins will then move onto the ONLINE VOTING ROUNDS. They start with 50 bands...then go down to 25 top bands...then down to 10 bands...and then whomever has the most votes WINS the big kahuna! This winner will be announced New Years Eve 2009!

What this means for the winner is a 50 Date US Tour Across the country in a tour bus with a crew and may other prizes and exposure!


Project Independent will also be filming the show that day as a part of their new REALITY TV show based upon the struggles of up and coming METAL ARTISTS and their involvement with the Project Independent program.

In the past, STEMM FANS have caused havoc and devastation when joined together! And we're hoping we can make that happen again as there truly IS Strength in Numbers!
